1/4" thick 3ply bamboo plywood is thin yet very strong in strength, it is weight bearing on all directions. it can be made into drawer bottoms, cabinet backing etc. it can also be laser engraved, CNC cut or routered into small items or arts and crafts.
bamboo is one of the fastest growing woody plant on earth, an ideal substitue to traditional wood species. it takes 4-6 years for a bamboo to grow to its full maturity while it takes decades or even hundereds of years for a treee. modern technology made it possible to produce furniture grade bamboo panels in 4'x8' sheets, and in various thickness for wood working.
bamboo has an exotic and unique look that no other wood species can prevail. the carbonized color is a rich, warm tone. the natural color is more white and a little bit yellow. vertical grain shows the side pressed bamboo in narrow grain. horizontal grain is flat pressed and shows the big knots of bamboo, also called wide grain bamboo.
All our bamboo panels come in unfinished, with 180 grit sanding, perfectly smooth on both sides, it is a ready to use material. You as the artist, can lacquer, oil or stain the bamboo in any colors as you wish. Bamboo is easy to cut and mill, works well with most carpenter tools.
