Natural color is achieved by boiling with H2O2 in hot water, a process to bleach and remove sugar, starch from the bamboo. Unlike caramel, which is a warm tone, natural color is more white, and has a cool feeling.
vertical grain doesn’t show the wide knots of bamboo, but looks like narrow bamboo strips laminated together to form a big panel. Each strip roughly 5mm to 6.5mm wide, whereas horizontal grain is made by using 21mm to 21.6mm wide bamboo strips edge glued to form a big panel. Vertical grain is also called side pressed or narrow grain.
